Playground Safety and Positioning Advice

In this blog, we’ll discuss playground safety. There are some important things to do when designing your playground. Playgrounds are a high-traffic area. So the layout can play an important role in ensuring the safety of your children.

1.) If you have the space, it’s not a bad idea to have the swings free-standing from the jungle gym. However, this may not always be possible, but this move will give you additional peace of mind. Kids running in front of the swing frame can result in an accident. This is especially prevalent  at schools

2.) Try and position your jungle gym at least 1m to 1.5m from the boundary wall. It’s very important to have a sufficient landing area your child slips and falls. It’s always a good idea to position your new jungle gym in a direct line of sight via your kitchen window or patio. This way you can always monitor what’s going on

3.) It’s also worth considering placing a matt at the base of the climbing wall.

4.) Every now and then we recommend that you check that the handrails and other add-on features are secured tightly. Kids are rough, and boisterous when climbing and playing in jungle gyms. As a result, some bolts may loosen slightly. Regular check-ups will help in the long run and prevent any unnecessary accidents.

5.) it’s very important to allow for at least a 1m to 1.5m landing area at the base of the slide, try and position the landing area away from bust walkways or access points into your garden.
